Linear Connector for Enterprise

Query, create and update Linear issues directly from Perplexity.

Written by Emilio Morales

The Linear Connector is a new feature available to Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max users that integrates Perplexity with Linear, allowing you to use data from Linear in your queries, enabling you to make more informed decisions, faster.

It allows you to use information from Linear and combine it with data from across your organization’s documents, connected apps, and the web, saving your team time and context-switching.

Below you’ll find an overview of this Connector and how to activate it.

How does the Linear Connector work?

The Linear Connector for Perplexity facilitates the flow of information between Linear and Perplexity, adapting to your organization’s workflows.

Users can query information from Linear issues, teams, initiatives, projects, and more, summarize and extract insights, and combine them with with information from the web or other apps contextually richer responses.

The Linear Connector also allows to create and update issues directly from Perplexity, allowing teams to move from research to synthesis to execution in seconds.

To maintain control over how Perplexity interacts with Linear, organization admins can enable or disable the connector for all organization users.

The Linear Connector keeps Perplexity in sync with Linear in real time, always searching Linear for the latest data when Lineatr is chosen as a source. Only the specific results needed to answer each query are retrieved. Perplexity does not store or index the entire Linear workspace.

Privacy and Data Security

The Linear Connector respects Linear's user permissions, so only data that a user can access in Linear can be accessed by that user through Perplexity.

We offer enterprise-grade protections and compliance including SOC 2 Type II certification, end-to-end encryption, strict data privacy measures, and granular user access controls. Your emails and calendar data, just like any other Enterprise data, are never used for AI training, and robust safeguards ensure confidentiality and regulatory compliance. You can learn more in our Trust Center.

Additionally, admins in eligible organizations can view all submitted queries that use the Linear Connector, and see every source used to generate answers, within Audit Logs. However, answers themselves and the specific Linear tickets accessed are not currently tracked in Audit Logs.

How to activate it

To activate the Linear Connector:

  1. Go to Connectors in Settings and locate the Linear Connector on the list.

  2. Click Enable.

  3. You will then be prompted to log in to Linear if you haven’t done so.

  4. Click Finish setup to start using Perplexity with Linear.

If you can’t enable the Linear Connector on your account, an admin may have disabled it for your organization. Get in touch with an organization admin who will be able to confirm this.

If it’s enabled for your organization but you still experience issues, contact us.

Trying it out

Once you have connected Perplexity to Linear, ensure that you select it as a source when running a query from a Thread:

  1. Click + button in the compose box > Connectors and sources

  2. Select Linear and any other source you’d like to use.

Try running some of these queries to leverage your Linear information directly in your answers:

  • Show me all teams in our workspace

  • How do other companies tend to address the issues described in ticket <issue ID>

  • Find urgent issues created by me in the last month

  • Show me complete details for issue <issue ID>

  • Create a feature request issue for team collaboration

Details on our use of Merge API, Inc. as data sub-processor

We use Merge to connect your Linear instance with Perplexity and handle user authentication. While queries and app data pass through the Merge-provided connector, the data is anonymized and neither stored nor logged by Merge.
