Perplexity Health is a personalized health experience available to Pro and Max subscribers in the US. It lets you connect data from Medical Records, wearables, wellness apps, and Apple Health so Perplexity can provide context-aware answers to your health questions. It also powers a Health hub dashboard with fitness tracking, biomarker trends, AI-generated summaries, and health memories that give you a holistic view of your health information. Perplexity Health is designed for everyday informational use and is not intended to diagnose conditions or replace professional medical care.
Who can use Perplexity Health?
At launch, Perplexity Health will be included with Perplexity Pro and Max subscriptions in the US and is available to eligible subscribers on iOS and on the web at perplexity.ai/health. This feature is rolling out as part of a phased launch, so it may not be available to all eligible subscribers right away. Apple HealthKit-based features require you to be 18 years or older and are only available on iOS.
How do I access Perplexity Health?
The Perplexity Health hub is available on the web via the sidebar or at perplexity.ai/health. On iOS, you can find it by typing "Health" in the search bar. You can also ask health-related questions directly in the main chat — relevant queries will automatically trigger Perplexity Health.
What health data can I connect to Perplexity Health?
You can securely connect your Electronic Health Records through our partner b.well, your wellness apps via Terra API, and upload files to a dedicated and secure Health files repository. On your iOS device, you can also connect Apple Health.
What does the Health hub include?
The Health hub at perplexity.ai/health brings together your connected health data so you can track trends and get proactive insights. It features fitness tracking, biomarker tracking, activity logs, and AI-powered summaries. Using Perplexity Health
What can I ask Perplexity Health?
You can ask general health questions as well as questions that use your own data, such as:
How did my sleep this week compare to last week?
Analyze my last 5 workouts and tell me how to improve.
What are my step trends over the past month?
Create a nutrition plan based on my lab data and activity levels.
When your data is available and your question is health-related, Perplexity Health references your relevant health data instead of providing only generic explanations.
How does Perplexity Health personalize responses?
When you choose to opt in and connect sources such as wellness apps or Medical Records, Perplexity uses relevant data from those providers, along with general population health insights to inform its answers. It also creates health memories that can be referenced for related queries, helping provide more personalized, context-aware responses. Personalized in this context means responses are adjusted based on your connected data and broader medical knowledge, not that Perplexity is delivering the kind of individualized assessment, diagnosis, or treatment advice a doctor can provide.
What health topics will Perplexity Health NOT answer?
Perplexity Health is designed for informational purposes only. It will not:
Provide medical diagnoses.
Recommend specific treatments.
Provide personalized nutrition therapy.
Give emergency medical advice.
For these topics, Perplexity Health always recommends consulting with a qualified healthcare provider.
Connecting Your Health Data
What are Medical Records?
Medical Records let Perplexity securely connect to your healthcare provider so your clinical history, labs, and visit information can be used to personalize health-related answers and your health dashboard.
Which countries are Medical Records available in?
Medical Records are available only in the United States at launch.
How do I connect Medical Records and what data is shared?
You can connect your Medical Records from the Health landing page, during onboarding, or from the Connectors section in Settings by selecting Medical Records. Once connected, Perplexity may access data such as lab results, visit summaries, medications, and medical conditions, depending on what your provider makes available.
Who powers the Medical Records connection?
The Medical Records connection is powered by b.well, a HIPAA-compliant platform that securely manages your health data connection between Perplexity and your healthcare providers. You can read their privacy policy here.
My health records data isn’t syncing — what should I do?
First, confirm that your Medical Records provider shows as active on the Health landing page and in Settings.
If it appears connected but no new data is arriving, try disconnecting and reconnecting the connector from Settings, then wait a few minutes for data to refresh; if the issue persists, submit a support ticket.
What is Connector in Perplexity Health?
Connector lets you link health devices and apps—such as Fitbit, Google, and Clue—so Perplexity can use your activity, sleep, recovery, and cycle data to personalize insights.
Who powers the health devices and apps connection?
The health devices and apps connection is powered by Terra API, a unified health and fitness data platform that securely connects Perplexity to your wearables and wellness apps. You can read their privacy policy here.
How do I connect wearables and what data is shared?
You can connect wearables during onboarding, or from the Health landing page by selecting Connectors > Health Devices and Apps.
Depending on the app and permissions you grant, Perplexity may receive data such as steps, workouts, heart rate, sleep, recovery, and other wellness metrics, which are used to ground health answers and recommendations.
My fitness and wearables data isn't syncing — what should I do?
Start by checking that your wearable app (for example Fitbit) is up to date and has recently synced data in its own app.
Then confirm that the data source shows as active on the Health landing page or Connectors page, and, if needed, disconnect and reconnect the wearable; if data still does not appear after a short delay, submit a support ticket.
What is Apple Health in Perplexity?
Apple Health can be connected to help Perplexity Health understand the activity, sleep, movement, and other wellness signals you choose to share. Currently, Apple Health data is used to personalize your health answers but is not reflected on the Health hub dashboard or data visualizations.
Do I need an iPhone to use Apple Health?
Yes, you will need an iPhone to connect Apple Health.
How do I connect to Apple Health and what data is shared?
You'll be prompted to connect Apple Health during the iOS onboarding flow when you ask relevant health questions. You can also enable it from the Connectors page.
Only data you select on the Apple Health permissions screen will be shared with Perplexity.
My Apple Health data isn't syncing — what should I do?
First, confirm that Perplexity still has permission to read Apple Health data and that you are using the latest version of the Perplexity app. If your data still does not sync after checking permissions and waiting for a refresh period, try the following steps:
Check your iOS Health permissions by opening the Health app > tap your profile picture (top right) > Apps > Perplexity.
Make sure the Perplexity app has Background App Refresh enabled (Settings > General > Background App Refresh).
Try disconnecting and reconnecting Apple Health from Perplexity Settings.
If the issue persists, submit a support ticket.

How is my health data stored and protected?
Your raw health data is queried on demand through our data providers and is not stored permanently on our servers. Any health files you upload are stored in a separate, encrypted health file repository.
To provide personalized insights, the system may generate health memories based on your queries. Your health information is accessed only when directly relevant to your request, and we use standard encryption along with HIPAA-aligned safeguards to protect your data.
Is my health information shared with other Perplexity features?
Health memories are referenced only when they are relevant to your question. Privacy safeguards are in place to limit how and when your health information is used.

Managing Your Data & Health Memories

You can view your health-related memories by going to Settings > Personalization > Manage your saved memories and filtering for “Health.” You can also delete a health memory by hovering over it and clicking the Delete icon.
I connected to a data source but did not see my data.
Your data should sync within a few minutes after connecting. If your data is missing, try disconnecting and reconnecting your data source from Settings. If the issue persists, submit a support ticket.
My health-related questions aren't using my data.
If answers look generic rather than personalized, first confirm your health data sources are connected and the relevant permissions are granted. If those look correct, try disconnecting and reconnecting your data source from Settings. If the issue persists, submit a support ticket.
How do I disconnect my Health Connectors?
You can disconnect your wearable connector, health records connector, and Apple Health (iOS only) at any time by going to Settings > Connectors. You can also disable them directly from your Health hub.
How do I delete my health data?
You can delete your health memories in Personalization and remove connector access under “Connectors” on your Settings page. You can also delete any Health thread at any time in your History tab.
What happens when I disconnect a data source?
When you disconnect a health connector, Perplexity stops receiving new data from that source. Perplexity does not store data from your connected sources and only retains information that appears in your threads, which you can delete at any time.
