Account Settings

Your account settings are where you manage your profile, subscription, AI preferences, and enterprise tools, all in one place.

Every page in the left-hand menu groups related controls so you can find what you need quickly and keep Perplexity working the way you want.

You can find your account settings at perplexity.ai/account/details or by clicking your avatar in the bottom right corner and selecting "All Settings".

Account

The Account page is where you manage your identity, subscription, and sign-in sessions.

  • Change avatar: Upload a profile picture shown across Perplexity.

  • Full Name: Set the display name that appears on your profile.

  • Username: Change your unique handle used to identify you.

  • Email: View the email address linked to your account.

  • Your Subscription: See your current plan (e.g., Enterprise Max) and click Manage to explore features or change plans.

  • Support → Contact: Reach out to the Perplexity team for help.

  • Sign out: End your session on this browser.

  • Sign out of all sessions: Log out of every device and browser you're signed in on — useful if a device is lost.

  • Delete account: Learn how to permanently remove your account and data.


Preferences

Preferences controls how Perplexity looks and how the AI responds to you.

  • Theme: Switch between Light, Dark, or System (follows your OS).

  • Answer font: Choose the font style for AI response text.

  • Language: Set the language used for the user interface.

  • Preferred response language: Choose the language Perplexity uses when replying.

  • Autosuggest: Turn tab-complete and dropdown suggestions on or off while typing.

  • Keyboard shortcut hints: Display shortcuts as symbols (⌘⇧) or full key names (Cmd+Shift).

  • Image generation model: Pick the default model for image creation (e.g., Nano Banana Pro).

  • Video generation model: Pick the default model for video creation.

  • AI data retention: Control whether your data is retained. Enterprise customers are automatically excluded from model-provider training.

Personalization

Personalization is where you give Perplexity context about you so responses feel tailored.

  • Your occupation: Add your role (e.g., engineer, student) to shape tone and depth.

  • Company name: Include your workplace for relevant context.

  • Date of Birth: Managed separately for age-appropriate results.

  • Gender: Optional context you can manage.

  • Custom instructions: Free-text field for preferences, interests, and style.

  • Share location: Opt in to precise location for location-aware answers.

  • Response Length: Set default verbosity (short, default, long).

  • Headers and Lists: Choose how answers are structured.

Assistant

The Assistant page configures the Perplexity Assistant for email, calendar, and meetings.

  • Full name: Used in email signatures and calendar invites sent by the Assistant.

  • Organization: Company name shown on invites.

  • Accounts: Link Gmail with Calendar or Outlook so the Assistant can search messages and manage events.

  • Conferencing: Connect Zoom to create and manage meetings.

  • Scheduling: Control how the Assistant proposes and books times.

Shortcuts

Shortcuts have moved to Skills.

  • Go to Skills: Opens the new Skills experience, which replaces the legacy Shortcuts feature.

Notifications

Set up proactive, recurring updates from Perplexity.

  • Create a Scheduled Search: Enter a prompt (e.g., "Send me a daily summary of AI news"), pick a model, and save.

  • Scheduled Searches: See active, paused, and completed searches with cadence (Daily, Weekly) and next run time.

  • + New schedule: Add another recurring search.

  • Price Alerts: Get notified when a stock or cryptocurrency hits a target price.

Usage and credits

Track your credit balance and where credits are being spent.

  • Available credits: Your current balance.

  • Request more: Ask your admin or Perplexity for additional credits.

  • Org-refill: When enabled, credits top up automatically once the balance falls below a threshold.

  • Credit grants: A table listing each grant with date granted, expiry, and amount.

  • Credit usage tiles: See consumption this cycle split into Text, Image, Video, and Audio.

  • Thread-level usage: Per-thread log showing which queries used the most credits.

Connectors

Connectors link third-party tools to Perplexity so you can search across them and take action.

  • Search all connectors: Find a specific integration.

  • Discover / All / Connected / Available: Filter the catalogue by state.

  • All categories: Narrow by type (Creative, Communication, and more).

  • + Custom connector: Build your own integration.

  • Connected: Manage active connections (e.g., Google Drive, Gmail with Calendar, OneDrive).

  • Popular: Quick access to Sharepoint, Dropbox, and Box.

  • Creative: BioRender, Twitch, Canva Enterprise.

  • Communication: Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SMSTools.

API Platform

  • API Platform: An external link that opens the developer platform in a new tab, where you can generate API keys, monitor usage, and browse docs.
